Freedom from fear
Freedom from fear
Copied below is Shri V T Panchapagesan's (Ex-RBI, Chennai...He celebrated Navati few years ago) response to a write-up on fear by Vathsala Jayaraman :
"Our living as a whole is full of anxiety covered with Fear
Due to various factors within, and with external influence.
Every individual has to struggle.
Some are Lucky.
Many suffer due to internal Conflict going on.
Remedy.
Develop good Association from the Start.
Avoid Outside interaction if it is harmful.
Aim high but not too ambitious.
Analyse your Potential within .
Do not Compare.
What you are, YOU WILL BE.
FEAR WILL BE ERODED FROM YOUR MIND
AS YOU ARE A NEW HUMAN BORN TO BE FEARLESS!"
As age progresses we come across more and more reasons to fear. When we try to find out solutions, we are threatened by more and more frightening aspects which further add to our fears. If one doesn't know when to stop, accumulation of fears will continue. I'll share my recent experience :
I started reading Arun Shourie's "Preparing for Death". I had earlier resisted the temptation to buy this book after reading some sketchy reviews by eminent persons who were yet to read the book! The book doesn't help in making one wiser on the subject. From Nachiketa to Arun Shourie, many were curious about the subject. The right approach is wait for the real experience as no one will be denied the chance!
There are many books encashing our fear of death. Like "Five Regrets of the Dying"
Back to where we started, the only way to keep away fear is to remain in the game of life and fight to the last.
Now, what was the fear Vathsala Jayaraman was talking about? :

"Fear is a negative force. Many people live their entire life in fear. It is out
of fear that they worship, get married, beget children and
save for future.
Where fear is present, pro-life energies suffer a drop in their level.
Fear creates a hurt body and it tries to survive leaning on philosophy and logic.
We try to offset the effects of fear by acquiring money, power, name, and fame in abundant measure. These are but poor defences against fear. In
spiritual terms, faith is the only effective antidote to fear.
When one door closes, another door opens automatically..This optimism takes the worry of a closed door.
The detachment or disidentification is the insulation. In yoga it is called ATMA SAMARANAM-self rememberance. We have to remember to bring forth an impression of trust, assert our faith, and discard the spirit
of distrust and fear.
When the higher centres in us are constantly communicating something profound to us, but we close ourselves to them. The moment we are available
for higher vibrations, we attract the noble aspects of life.
