Warrier's Collage 31072020 : Dr Viral Acharya

Warrier's Collage 31072020 : Dr Viral Acharya A Interaction 1) K Ramasubramanian, Mumbai " Prolific writers have made today's collage very interesting . In manthrapushpam which is chanted after Aarathi in temples uses the name Sadyojatha to address Lord Siva several times". 2) V Babusenan, Thiruvananthapuram " The incident narrated by Shri C.V.Subbaraman in the Collage of the 27th July is very interesting though tragic. I shall repeat it here for convenience's sake: One boy was riding on a bicycle. A deadly snake with which a bird was flying got lose from its beak and fell on the boy. The snake bit the boy who fell from the cycle and died. Many will say that the poor boy was destined to die like that and some will say that it was a conspiracy of circumstances. There is a similar story in Halasya Mahatmyam, an old Kriti about the glory of Madurai ruled by the Pandya kings. A hunter missed his target and the arrow ,on its downward journey , got caught

Thought for the day : https://youtu.be/in4s3bRiPuc Good Morning Many thanks for encouraging responses. Select responses are included at A Interaction. I'm sure while responding, you're keeping in mind the possibility of the response getting included in the Collage on subsequent days. Also remember the contents are posted at www.warriersblog.com which is accessible to public. Link to my article "Education and fitness" is at C below. Collage will continue the discussion on National Education Policy in the coming weeks. Regards M G Warrier Warrier's Collage 30072020 : Dreams A Interaction 1) V Babusenan One day, some years ago, my niece asked me the meaning of the word 'sadyojatha'. Not knowing that it was another name of Lord Siva, I told her that it meant 'born in the sadya' which was equivalent to the English idiom 'born with silver spoon in the mouth. 'I don't think I could be fully blamed for this blunder for us, ordin

Good Morning "Fighting Anxiety and Depression : Four Great Practices | Swami Sarvapriyananda" https://youtu.be/vzFtOOVQPmA This talk was delivered in Manhattan, US, four months ago (In March 2020) Listen to this when free. M G Warrier M 134 Warrier's Collage 290720 : Interaction A Interaction 1) C V Subbaraman A variety of issues are covered in the responses column. Interesting. Some issues relating to Sadyas have provided good reading materials. If we could bring back to our minds some good sadyas we had had the fortune to participate in, it would still bring some water in the mouth! It is true that the success of a marriage lies in the success of the feast, of which the "paayasam" is the crown. Our late beloved C V Nair (who retired as ED) attended the marriages of all my daughters and said to me, "Subbaraman, I have attended all the marriages in your family, I think even some of your close relatives might not have done this!". Temples and Rituals

Good Morning I find the responses on change in the format of Collage interesting and encouraging. I'll consider all suggestions received from all sources till July 31, 2020 and take a call. M G Warrier Prayer https://youtu.be/25YCfRo2b3E Warrier's Collage 28072020 : Rituals and Temples A Interaction 1) K Ramasubramanian, Mumbai " Many suggestions are emerging. Warrier, you may go ahead with your pattern till August and from September onwards after due incorporation of all suggestions and interaction a new format can start. Still many have further views to present." 2) Shivram G Shetty, Ex-RBI, Mumbai " Fond memories of my half a decade long association in eighties with Mr. C.V.Subbaraman as Dy.Controller, ECD, A'bad where I was posted, rekindled. Thanks for your Collage." (Such reunions are also part of Collage's agenda. Now CVS Sir is in his "eighties" Warrier) 3) S Nallasivan Hyderabad "Maharaja and Payasam story remi

Warrier's Collage 27072020 : Malabar A Interaction 1) C V Subbaraman, Ex-RBI, Mysuru "We must reserve a minimum of half an hour daily for going through collage - it is much less than what we spend in college during our college days. The unfinished parts and unbegun parts could be rolled over after attending to other daily routine in bits and parts. Had Collage appeared in those days, we would have certainly scored more marks perhaps in our subjects, as Warrier gives links and information that provide a fund of knowledge - like an encyclopedia. On MGW's scooter accident, I am reminded of a report in TOI more than sixty years back - A boy was riding on his bicycle some where in Andhra Pradesh. A bird had picked up a live snake and was flying in the sky. The snake escaped from the bird's beak and fell down on the neck of the bicycle rider, bit him and the poor rider fell and died! What a tragedy! You call it an act of god? Or a mere accident? Subbaraman" (S

Warrier's Collage 26072020 : First Time

Good Morning Please see A (1) Your views are welcome M G Warrier M 134 Warrier's Collage on Sunday 26072020 : First Time A Interaction 1) Madan Gauria There is no doubt that your Collage has become a super hit item in the Group. But I feel it has become too big having so many sections and subsections. When something becomes too big people loose interest. In addition you reproduce articles sent by other people, although with due credit to them, which members have already read. While going through your today's Collage I find there are too many parts. It has become a blog in itself. A person is confused as to what to read and what to reply. For example your today's Collage has so many parts as Prayer, Good morning message, Interaction (3 items), Commercial breaks (3 items), Warrier's views (1,2,3 and 4 with (a) to (h) sub items), Times blog (2 items) and D (Kuber Ross Model). I feel you can maintain short and crisp original character of your Collage with few

Two of them, more or less contemporaneous with my generation, were Vayalar Ramavarma and O.N.V.Kurup. Both of them, with equal verve, enriched Malayalam film lyrics also. One of the film songs penned by the former is on dreams. I shall try to furnish a very rough translation of it (Swapnangale...) here: (https://youtu.be/t_4Ui7oUWlQ Use this lin

We'll discuss that also, on another day.) Good Morning Some friends have suggested that the contents of Collage should be reduced to help them cover them in 30 to 40 minutes. I've noted the suggestion. Will come back with my response soon. Till then, my suggestion is, skip some videos/links and glance through written contents. M G Warrier A.
