Warrier's Collage on Sunday December 17, 2023

Welcome To Warrier's COLLAGE On Sunday, December 17, 2023 Sitting Around a Bonfire Sitting around a bonfire - The Economic Times https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/opinion/bliss-of-everyday-life/sitting-around-a-bonfire/articleshow/105883396.cms Friends After we humans thought that organised and structured living will be safer, we have been trying several options. Religion, "Government", different types of communities with common cause are all off-shoots of this positivism or hope. So far, we have not been successful in protecting ourselves and the habitat. Somewhere on the way, we lost control and the stronger and greedy among us started manipulating us to their advantage. We understood that many things around are out of reach and out of control for us. Uncertainties started scaring us. Someone "wiser" among us who was a management expert used the worst yet management technique and successfully convinced us 🙏 that the safest and easiest temporary solution was "if you can't do, outsource and delegate the responsibility" Like AI today, God was invented. Rest is history. God bless all Regards 🙏 M G Warrier A Responses/Messages 1) M G Warrier's new book Open Book of Happy Memories (And Other Stories)* https://notionpress.com/read/open-book-of-happy-memories?utm_source=share_publish_email&utm_medium=whatsapp Book overview Open Book of Happy Memories (And Other Stories) as the title suggests is a compilation of random essays on a variety of subjects. Recent pandemic, impact of which lasted for more than three years unsettled our life. Most of the lifelines breaking, many of us, especially elders, found our life approaching a grinding halt, not only for health or economic reasons. Communication links got reduced to television and internet, as doors closed and even newspapers and magazines, bookstores and libraries were out of reach. To help those friends and relatives who were not tech-savvy or were not comfortable with routine social media interaction, I tried a shortcut through a consolidated daily personal message. The modern social media routes came in handy. Short essays which covered nostalgic memories and brief pieces on current issues became part of my daily messages. This book is a compilation of select pieces from those stories and select essays written by me during recent years. As these were written in different contexts and at different points in time, there are bound to be some repetitions. *The book is available at major online sales outlets like Amazon.in besides the publisher (Notion Press Chennai) 2) Imprisoned for Life* https://notionpress.com/read/imprisoned-for-life Dr K. Aravindakshan, in his novel “Jeevaparyantham (Imprisoned for Life)”, makes the reader marvel at the interplay of violence and compassion on the complex stage of human life. He also demonstrates the spiritual transformations that suffering brings about in the sufferer as well as on those who standby. Ramesan is an ordinary bank employee leading a happy and virtuous family life. He is therefore, taken off-guard when during a sultry afternoon he is arrested by police at his office, hand-cuffed and led to the police jeep in full public view. He fails to convince even his mother about his innocence. He is implicated in the rape and murder of a dumb girl and, after trial, sentenced to life imprisonment. His life is devasted with the tragic deaths of his wife and daughter. The novel tells the amazing saga of this man who emerges as a different person after going through irrational and unfair suffering. Sale proceeds of this book go to the Pain & Palliative Care Society, Thrissur. Translation By E Madhavan Ex-RBI *Available at online outlets like Amazon.in My copy is arriving this week. 3) M G Warrier's earlier books a) Restoring Trust in Governance Restoring Trust in Governance : India's 2020's Challenge https://amzn.eu/d/bd4jVaa b) Chasing Inclusive Growth Chasing Inclusive Growth: Reforms for Financial Inclusion : https://amzn.eu/d/bxFhOUC c) India's Decade of Reforms India's Decade of Reforms : Reserve Bank of India at Central Stage https://amzn.eu/d/69MsCfB 4) M Mukundan Some readers wanted to know where M Mukundan has settled: https://www.onmanorama.com/lifestyle/decor/2021/02/11/mukundan-brand-new-house-mahe-mayyazhi.html 5) Bonus Puzzle on Time https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/toi-edit-page/for-those-who-love-time-is-eternity/ B Happening Today : Surat Diamond Bourse https://www.livemint.com/news/india/surat-diamond-bourse-pm-modi-to-inaugurate-worlds-largest-workspace-even-larger-than-pentagon-5-things-to-know-11702774345304.html C Cover Story Scaling Everest : Speaking Tree https://m.economictimes.com/opinion/speaking-tree/scaling-all-everests/articleshow/105883312.cms Everest and heaven are metaphors for fixing your goals. Have a Great Day ahead 🙏 D Readers write Panchapagesan's view Hypochondria : Hypochondria is an excessive anxiety about our health… Our Mind is always agitated over something or the other Brooding over it all the time about it. The idea current in the world about suffering is misleading and dangerous; it is both irrational and irreligious. It may lead people to make strenuous efforts to overcoming health issues. But it makes them less capable of enduring it, and perhaps causes their efforts to be misdirected and wasted. There are Six types of Courage one has to practice for smooth sailing. Physical, Social, Moral, Mental, Intellectual and Spiritual. The world does not want to know about your suffering or to make provision for it. Hence many problems are created. V T Panchapagesan E Collage Short/Sports Movie A movie directed by V R Gopinath based on a new Sports (Mix of Base Ball and Cricket) created by Shri Rajan Paul who was with Edassery Madhavan, Ex-RBI in Victoria College Palghat during 1966-68. https://youtube.com/watch?v=3OwXbPHdtZU&feature=shared F Collage Joke : Shared by S Venugopal A couple was going to get married. Unfortunately they had a car crash and died. Before the gates of St Peter they stood thinking, maybe they could get married in heaven. So they ask St Peter, and Peter says, "Well, it's quite rare, but let me see what I can do.” So St Peter goes into heaven. As the couple sits for a couple of months waiting for an answer, they begin doubting whether they should, considering the eternal aspects. Another month goes by and finally St Peter emerges from heaven, very bedraggled, and says,“Yes, you can get married.” The couple says,“But what if it doesn't work, can we then get a divorce?" St Peter, red in the face and totally annoyed, slams his clipboard down, and says, "Geez!" The couple are shocked and scared. They say “What's wrong?” St Peter says,“Listen, it took me 3 months to find a Priest up here, do you have any idea how long it will take to find a lawyer?!” G Collage Quotes on Devotion https://www.brainyquote.com/topics/devotion-quotes Like : A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle
