Reading alone, in crowds! This refers to the cover story "India's #SilentReading movement" (The Hindu Sunday Magazine, July 9). Another case of an idea changing your life. Though unsung and unhonoured, social media has been playing its proactive role in several areas. Reading groups are nothing new. But mostly, such groups had writers behind them. The novel idea of encouraging reading for reading's sake and getting substantial following in such a short period of six months speaks eloquently about the leadership of the promoters. Nothing wrong in welcoming related stakeholders like budding authors or booksellers to the fold at least in chapters coming up in Metros and cities. M G Warrier Mumbai

                       The King of Ragas                      --------------------------     Long ago  serpents were put to lot of hardships.They  were afraid of other animals. They had to seek refuge in the hermitage of sage Saraba.The sage was a true devotee of Lord Shiva.He used to pray Shiva with melodious songs. As he sang a particular raga the snakes were much inspired and they began to dance,. Slowly the serpents became friendly with the sage.
