Concept Of God
Concept Of God
A cocktail of God, Russell, Marriage & Morals make a wonderful intoxicant for a weekend.
Today, I was feeling lazy in the morning and I had not attempted to complete writing my daily quota of 200 words. I read this message at the right time.
Shri Raman Menon, then a Tutor (Mathematics)who was transferred from our college (Govt College, Madappalli) to nearby Brennen College, Tellicherry had come back to say bye to his friends. He was asked to address the students in the evening. He was a good orator.
The one hour talk he devoted to telling the story of Macbeth and for introducing Bertrend Russell to the audience. He mentioned about Russell's book "Conquest Of Happiness" which I later borrowed from the Kerala University Library. That book helped me to get introduced to Russell and I read some more books authored by Bertrand Russell. I found all of them interesting.
Coming back to the concept of God, my experience is that the concept which is planted as a seed in our mind along with mother's milk, evolves and grows every day and vanishes along with us. No two individuals will have the same idea about God at any point in time.
It's futile to search for an external God. If one needs one, like the map is used for helping the traveller to have an idea of the geographical location a place, let people describe the form or attributes of God. For me, God is whatever existed, exists and will ever exist in future and whatever is not included in them.
