Sugathakumari: Poet of Compassion

Sugathakumari: Poet of compassion Sugathakumari breathes last but thousands will breathe her memories forever - The New Indian Express" https://www.newindianexpress.com/states/kerala/2020/dec/23/poet-of-compassion-sugathakumari-breathes-last-but-thousands-will-breathe-her-memories-forever-2240098.amp https://youtu.be/2-5sD0-QiyE (Ambalamani By Sugathakumari) During my stay in Thiruvananthapuram during 1963-86, I had several occasions to listen to Sugathakumari's recital of her poems. During Surya Festival, one day used to be devoted to pay tributes to her father Bodheswaran. Sugathakumari Teacher was Principal at Bal Bhavan during which period my son Kiran attended vacation classes for some hobbies like painting and clay modelling during his pre-school days. In sharing her thoughts, Sugathakumari didn't differentiate between scholars sharing stage with her and parents (like me) who accompanied children to Jawahar Bal Bhavan where she was Principal. May her Soul Rest in Peace M G Warrier
