Quote for the day:
"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity."

The Picasso of Appan Nagar...
When I opened the link giving the life picture of the great artist of modern painting Picasso, it ran into a long narration
of how the artist went through the different periods in life of mood changes which reflected on the portraits/paintings
he made in that period, like blue or pink or African or many such influences.
I was determined to get a glimpse at some of his paintings and so went through the article till the end, and it was there at the end.
First was a blue portrait and after a couple of nude type of paintings it was a portrait of a person sitting on a chair with
one hand resting on top of the head with the title 'Dream'.
I felt that, that could be the self portrait of the Picasso of Appan Nagar.
I needed a day to reflect on the self portrait of an octogenarian endlessly sitting on a chair in the portico
of his villa and looking at the passersby on the street.
In his brief narration of his daily routine, Shri Babusenan Sir
has shown us the way how one has to be positive in life amid the many negativities one has to face in our old age.
Everyone of us is worried about one or the other infirmity brought in by the various illness of old age.
Some infirmities are on our physical appearance and some are in our psyche. Physical discomfort adds up to psycho discomfort.
To ignore them all and to live independently finding ways for self help and not willing to trouble others is a success story in life.
If one can get more Snehas as friends in life, who can spare time for a chat and give memorable Diwali gifts
it will definitely make old age easy to ignore any types of infirmities.

Forex Management
(Ref: ET Rajendran's observations of December 5/6)
The London subsidiary can be utilised to float foreign currency bonds abroad either directly or alongwith SBI and canalise to India for development at cheaper rates of interest.
Good companies can raise funds from abroad if need be by guarantee of central bank allocating a part of profit towards a kind of sinking fund
Mere investment of reserves with very low yield , a policy needing a relook
