I could have answered, "For Me!" and forgotten the query. But age (running 77) has started affecting me too. I've become slow in responding. Has X misunderstood "Collage" for "College"? Especially after "Collage in Classroom" started appearing off and on! Images vary with the nature of surface of the mirror. Frankly, for me, Collage is a medium to communicate with my contacts. He was a the short lived wonder while presiding the Ministry of Railways. (Continued at H1) B Guru Poornima* : Vathsala Jayaraman Chennai This year Guru Poornima falls on 23rd July. Guru Poornima is the full moon day of the ashada month falling in June-July, or July-August according to the thithi. This is also celebrated as Buddha Poornima since Lord Buddha gave his first sermon on this day in Saranath. For Hindus it is the birth day of the Great sage Vyasa, popularly known as Adi Guru. Sage Vyasa edited and compiled all the vedas. He is the author of the great epic Mahabharata,18 puranas, upa puanas, Shrimad Bhagavatham and Vyasa Samhita. Any Satseva done on Gurupurnima day brings abundant grace from Guru. The word Guru means 'one who removes darkness'. Guru represents upliftment of the disciple. It is believed that Guru alone can break the binding forces and deep rooted attachments and release the aspirant from the clutches of earthly existence. There have been many Gurus like Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhwa, Guru Raghavendra, Shirdi Baba, Ramana Maharishi, Sehadri Swamigal, Paramacharya of Kanchi, Puttaparthi Baba and many others-every one preaching in their own style but with a common goal in mind. Celebration of Guru Poornima is a humble attempt to express our gratitude to those great seers. We have read, heard, seen and learnt many things. But it will be purposeful only when our knowledge through sadhana is transformed into continuous outpournig of love and ceaseless service to humanity. Guru Purnima is significant to farmers, the backbone of our nation. The water drawn up and stored as clouds in summer manifests into bouniful showers giving a new life to plants. Guru is not represented by any single person or acharya alone. In a broader perspective, when we see the entire universe as a Guru Swarupa,we can see the guiding hand from all directions, hear an awakening voice from nook and corner and feel the illuminating touch of Guru in every object we see. The supreme Guru manifesting in Nature teaches much more than what we learn from a top class world famous university. A man was particular in getting clarification on many points and get Upadesa of Gnana Marga from Buddha. Daily he was pestering. Buddha agreed on one condition. The man should remain with Buddha for two years and remain silent throughout without asking a single question. The idea was if he stayed with Buddha for 2 long years and simply observed him without asking any question, all his doubts will be automatically cleared.
