Inspiration for perspiration
Inspiration for perspiration
Occasionally, the thought "to write or not to write?" comes to mind, of late. Then I remind myself about my commitment to write at least 200 words every day, so long as I'm using the mobile. Added inspiration is, someone far off is waiting to read what I write. The poet Sugathakumari has written some poems explaining why she wrote poems. The link to one of them :

Yesterday was Sunday. The other half, Sudha loves watching Malayalam movies in theatre. Once in a while we go for a movie and as a side benefit, enjoy hotel food. Some minor painting/maintenance work is going on inside the house. Yesterday also one worker came and was doing his job. Thought the movie plan will have to be postponed till the painting is over. The painter while leaving for lunch gave the good news that he was taking afternoon off.
We watched the Malayalam movie "All we imagine as light..."
and had dinner at nearby Udupi 2 Mumbai restaurant.
When I gave my opinion about the movie, Kiran said he was reading for the first time a view about a movie from me. He's right. Though I have watched hundreds of movies in various languages, I have never followed or remembered the story lines.

Some random thoughts on today's Collage.
Sunrise from your flat has been issued long time back.
But sunrise is welcome again as winter strikes us all again and is now on. Warmth of the sun sometimes becomes a luxury even though sun does rise (?), or rather more accurately, "appears" on the horizon at regular intervals. Now we have in Mysuru the second day in succession an invisible sun as clouds have captured the sky, thanks to the storm that struck the neighbouring Tamil Nadu.
Whatever is given free by Nature is not appreciated by Man. The sunrise, the moonlight, the air to breathe, the water that is nectar of life, the flora and fauna.......
But that does not deter our people in power to offer freebees, on increasing scales, as time passes. Are we not making more and more idlers in our country? People make money, do not earn money. For this, the real earners pay increasingly by way of taxes in many forms. Those impose taxes have a bureaucratic machinery to invent new taxes every day! Did we not hear in the recent past how a State Government of Himachal Pradesh was about to levy taxes on every toilet seat?
As for the impending extension or exit of the present Governor of the RBI: Government of the day knows when persons occupying top positions are due to retire, but they do not care to have a vibrant policy to deal with management succession issues. In a system where our Central Board is loaded with bureaucrats and government nominees, there is little chance of policy making suffering because of absence of some or the other members! The filling up of vacancies is reduced to a mere administrative formality. But the institutional policy continues unaffected. I wonder whether our secretary's department brings out faithful minutes of the meetings of the Board for us to understand how far each member contributes to policy making. Perhaps, the minutes are considered "confidential". In many establishments members open their mouths only to yawn or take tea and snacks served at the meetings.
The poem at the end of the Collage is very good. Man lives on hope, every day, every moment.
Hope is the nectar of life,
Amidst all the worldly strife,
It's seed of better morrow
And of a day sans sorrow.
But for this trait of great hope
Man would see the end of rope,
Depressed, deeply disheartened,
Helpless and disenchanted,
Grow too weak to himself fend,
Awaiting his fateful end.

'The Sun is not free from burning issues.' Highly meaningful observation.
The Sun too has its day. Its helium stock will get exhausted one day and
the Sun will not be there! But this will not happen in our life time. It will
take place billions of years later.
