M G Warrier Collage Editorial My message to my friends and relatives have gone through several experiments since 2009 when my daughter Reshmy helped me to start a blog. Now www.warriersblog.com which has since crossed few lakhs views (In 2009 there was only one post at my Blog. Sharing the information for beginners in communication) Today's Collage is focused on poetry through three generations. Starting with Edasserikkavitha. I tried to understand more about Edasseri after observing my RBI colleague and friend Edasseri Madhavan. I learnt more about detachment and focussing on own affairs from him. I was a multi-focussed, diverse person partly owing to circumstances. Opportunities were many to go astray. Seven years in and around a temple, 4 plus ten years of life with students and bachelors, exposure to militant Trade Unions et al. But many good souls who came into my Though we became family friends I am yet to meet Madhavan's brothers. Each of them got groomed to serve the society in a different way : Dr Divakaran is now leading the palliative care movement from Kerala. Late E Harikumar was a known author. Asokakumar who started as an Engineer is now trying his hand on literature. My friend Madhavan is presently a known figure in literary circles in Thrissur (Cultural Capital of Kerala) with roots in Edasseri Smaraka Samithi. The ten poems included in the book were written between 1940 and 1972 (1940's 3, 1950's 2, 1969 : One and 1970's 4) Poet Edasseri lived between 1906 and 1974. With a busy career for earning a living, Edasseri wrote hundreds of poems and tried his hand on other segments of literature just out of passion for the literary pursuit. In a way he can be considered lucky as his work is finding fruition by reaching out to discerning audience across the world.
