"I'm OK- you're OK"
By
Thomas A Harris
Thomas Anthony Harris (April 18, 1910 – May 4, 1995) was an American psychiatrist and author who became famous for his self-help manual "I'm OK- You're OK" (1967). The book was a bestseller and its name became a cliche during the 1970s.
I purchased a copy of this book during 1970's. Though later I had to read bulkier books on psychology, psychiatry and human behaviour as also about the motives of "Why people do what they do", this book has some content to guide the reader about every aspect of human behaviour. From the newborn child's first breath to the agonizing look of the Alzheimer's patient.

The 269 page book is a well-researched document and considering the age of the author when the book was first published (Thomas A Harris was in his 30's), one gets amazed by the mature conclusions from observation recorded.
I have not seen elsewhere the P-A-C (Parent-Adult-Child) concept explained so brilliantly.
Every Chapter (all 13 of them) starts with a quote loaded heavily with meaning. The one the author chose for the concluding
Chapter :
"History is populated by tyrants who have done the inconceivable. And the button exists."

Tailpiece :
The book is recommended for those who wonder why interaction in mainstream and social media occasionally look like scrambled pizzas.
