India growing!

India growing! An experience while traveling by train from Bhusawal to Goa today... "Suddenly, my friend's 2-year-old son developed a fever. We didn't have any medicines with us, and there were still 7 hours left before reaching our destination, Madgaon. We thought about getting off at the next station, consulting a doctor, and then continuing the journey by road. Casually, I told a vendor selling goods on the train : “We need some medicine. Can you arrange it at the next station? I'll give you ₹500 for your effort.” The vendor replied, “No need for that. Meet the TTE (Ticket Examiner); your problem will be solved.” We immediately met the TTE. In all my life, I had never experienced such promptness from a government employee. He stopped what he was doing, made a phone call right away, noted down our seat number and the medical condition, and asked us to return to our seats. Honestly, we didn't expect much. We had already decided that if necessary, we would get off at the next station and take the child to a doctor. We assumed someone might simply bring a few tablets wrapped in paper. But at the very next station, a doctor arrived at our seat along with an assistant. The TTE was also there. After examining the child, the doctor immediately instructed his assistant to give us some syrup bottles. He explained how to administer the medicine and then told the TTE to arrange some salt from the pantry. The TTE made another phone call right away. The doctor advised us to apply a cloth dipped in salt water to the child's forehead and then left. When we called out and asked how much we owed them, we were told that all of this was completely free of charge. We were still in shock and amazement when, by the time we returned to our seats, a pantry staff member arrived with the salt. My country is truly changing for the better." Such positive changes are not often highlighted by the media or newspapers. Change is happening. We should also share these experiences with our relatives and friends. It will take time, but we are witnessing and experiencing the transformation that is taking place. (Source: Hemant Kelkar) Shared by S Thyagarajan, Ex-RBI
