Somewhere, someone has to think of a bridge between Monetary and Fiscal Policies. The words and abbreviations, Inflation and Growth, WPI and CPI, CAD and Fiscal Deficit, BPL and GDP, to list a few, look good in glossy print. None of these help when the options are between Food and Medicine or Uniforms and Books for the child and shelter or buying Water or Milk. As the need to make such choices do not confront those in charge of governance, policy is always infected by the whims of the rich and the powerful. And the debates will go on endlessly!
