More to do in my job, says RBI governor Raghuram Rajan

More to do in my job, says RBI governor Raghuram Rajan: RBI Governor was responding to a question in London on the politics surrounding extension of his term...

I have gone on record expressing my discomfort with short-term appointments at top level in organisations like RBI when Dr Rajan was appointed for a 3-year term in August 2013. Not only Subramanian Swamy, but other people alsohave gossipped about continuance of Dr Rajan as Governor even till the end of the current term. Now, with this report, I feel, Dr Rajan will not be replaced at least till 2021. Dr Swamy, it would appear, thinks, RBI Governor's appointment is similar to appointment of state governors. GOI understands it better and media should not join hands with Swamy in attempts to destabilise RBI.
