Today we shall have many dishes fine Chicken, mutton, favourites of mine After chatting for a while, And also sharing a smile, It will be time to cut my birthday cake, That looks as fluffy as a snowflake. All those present tucked into a piece of it, And it went down their throats bit by bit. We shall now have a round of games, For the prizes there'll be many claims. I wish each other the best of luck, In life they do well who show some pluck, But the others who always duck, Will at some point get sorely stuck. I thank God for His Grace that keeps me alive, Though I can no longer dance and jive, I keep myself busy like bees in a hive, Before long at Heaven's door I shall arrive. That association was uplifting for the little girl!! Why is there a parting for every meeting in life. It's really sad. The message in the end was comforting, very thoughtful. The pain of losses won't vanish completely, it may reduce. In the journey of life, we will find recovery from the partings in some form or another. Life moves on. So do we. Like : "We need these type of smile and happiness throughout our life" B Current Affairs Media Response* To The Editor The Hindu Business Line Letters December 17, 2021 Inflation blues This refers to the editorial "End of easy money" (December 17) suggesting that 'RBI may have to follow the Fed in acknowledging the threat posed by inflation'. There's substance in the approach of the editorial, if we go by the pre- pandemic policy stances of the Indian Central Bank. During the pandemic, India along with many other developing economies learnt the bitter lesson that interdependence does not necessarily mean mutual policy support in times of need. This has resulted in each country doing some homework and pruning their monetary and economic policies to suit their immediate domestic requirements. Suffice to say, RBI is not going to sneeze when Federal Reserve catches a cold. This doesn't mean, policy stances of developed countries do not affect Indian financial system. But, certainly Indian financial markets including bond market are evolving and can depend on internal and external funding to much greater extent than during 1990's when exit by FDI sources could embarrass India. Today India is aware of the country's strengths and weaknesses and can/will respond appropriately, if need arises. Smt Vathsala Jayaraman is a person very well versed in Carnatic music. Being a resident of Chennai, she must have enjoyed many of its famous Margazhi music sessions which helped her to diagnose the symptoms caused by the virus special to music. Very interesting narration indeed. Smt Vathsala seems to have omitted one symptom viz. singing along with the singer. In one of his concerts, the legendary Chembai suddenly stopped singing and told a man among the listeners aloud : "Only one of us will sing -either you or I.'' It used to be a fond dream for every music lover to attend a music concert at the famous Shanmukhananda Hall in Mumbai. I got this great chance on a few occasions. It was there that Jesudas made a mark by singing along with his guru Chembai, the well-known Thyagaraja kriti 'Ksheerasaagara sayana'. This hall too had its share of defects-not acoustic but man made including talking and walking in and out for coffee and eatables while the performance was going on. Leaving the hall in large groups during 'Tani aavarthanam' (which is a gross injustice to the percussion artists) was religiously observed here. I think the listeners cannot be wholly blamed. In a great city like Mumbai, music concerts are occasions when friends and relatives get a chance to meet, though that does not justify this avoidable behaviour. I think it was Dr Balamuraleekrishna who introduced the interval system in music concerts and relentlessly kept it in his concerts. Its side effect was that he was avoided in the Navarathri concerts in Thiruvananthapuram where the royal family was invariably present and an interval was an embarrassment to them. I am happy that Smt Vathsala Jayaraman liked my write-up though its purpose was only to narrate a couple of unique moments. Having no time to tell others about the power of GOD to change lives. The question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes? You be the judge!!!!! Does "BUSY" mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke? U can opt to brood over this, if you aren't too BUSY! The minutes of the meeting meaningfully conveyed to all busy people in life. Wonderfully presented. The Satan of modern times thinks about VCR, Cinema houses, shopping centres etc. But there seems to be no connection between modern way of living, being busy and keeping up ethical standards. Even in olden days, when there was no scientific advancement, people had their own way of spending their time, not necessarily on God and God associated activities. From the vedic times non believers were too many compared to God seekers. If everyone is good, everyone is very true and of sterling character, God fearing,there will be nothing to compare,nothing to challenge and nothing to fight against. With three gunas,we can't escape Satan's attack, even if you don't have scientific gadjets and even if you have so much free time to think of Lord Supreme. Ultimately everyone wants to be peaceful and happy always - an impossibility.Ups and downs make us believers and non believers. All seeds don't grow into healthy plants;all rivers are not calm full with steady stream for ever;Wind is not ever fragrant and becomes violent .Why to segregate human beings? There will be two sides of the coin as long as the universe exists. Satan will be continuously performing his duty and will be partially successful.The fight will continue for ever.
