Hopefully, the earlier practice of promising everything to win elections and being selective in implementation may not work in the same way, post-2014 Election. If another election within a short period, post-2014 elections is to be avoided, whichever combination comes to power will have to follow a non-confrontational approach. Review of hasty and hazy policy decisions on issues like nuclear deal(which incidentally remains half-way through, as of now), National Pension System, AADHAAR and oil pricing and auction of natural resources-the list is illustrative!- by the new government, even if it is UPA-III will be necessary. That does not mean a quick reversal of all decisions. Viewed in this perspective, promises to review policy approaches of previous government, need not be taken as a retrograde step.
