Prices of processed food articles including packaged food, world over, are not amenable to the kind of analysis Dr Rajan has attempted here and also in a recent speech (the RBI Governor dragged pensioners also there). In real life the dosa which can be cooked at home @Rs5 per piece will cost anything between Rs10 and a few hundred rupees depending from where you opt to buy the dosa. So, let us leave dosa for the time being and concentrate on other items.
In hotel kitchens, they use long and broad platform-like tawas on which several dosas can be cooked simultaneously. One Hotel Sankalp did cook a dosa 32 feet long and got into Guinnes Book of World Records.
