Nice jokes sent by Balu sir. Nicely relating to leaders of various sorts with ingrained humour. A good entertainment in early morning.

Holi 2022

What's the story behind Holi?
Holi celebrates the triumph of good over evil and there are various stories about its origin.
The most popular legend in Hindu mythology says the festival marks Lord Vishnu’s triumph over King Hiranyakashyapu, who killed anyone who disobeyed him or worshipped other gods.
The king had a son called Prahlad who never worshipped his father and worshipped Vishnu instead. Hiranyakashyapu was so displeased that he conspired with his sister Holika to kill his son.

Alvin Toffler : Power Shift (1990)
https://www.ukessays.com/essays/economics/alvin-tofflers-powershift-book-review-7211.php
Excerpts :
"Violence, preeminent during feudal times, has lost much of its utility today because it can only be used to punish and those it castigates often seek revenge. Unlike violence, wealth can be used to both reward and punish. However, wealth, an instrument of the industrial age, is an exhaustible resource and therefore is only rated as “medium-quality power.” The highest form of power is knowledge which is able to reward and punish and is inexhaustible."

Modernise accounting systems
The Employees Provident Fund Organization has decided to slightly reduce interest rates on beneficiary account balances. The move should be welcomed as it is part of efforts to become self-supporting depending on current accruals. All organisations managing/dependent on public funds in India need to do lot more towards professionalisation of accounting systems. Going a step forward, one would venture to assert that the suggestion is equally applicable to all government and bank accounts.
The revelation that EPFO has on its books 22 crore accounts against 6.4 crore live members making regular contributions is shocking. Though EPFO has introduced portability of accounts, it doesn't work unless each member keeps a vigil and ensures that her Provident Fund balances with the previous employer moves with her to the new employer's books.
Coming to interest rates, no one talks openly about the existence of a captive catchment area for G-Secs. Some modalities will have to be found sooner than later to improve marketability of government bonds in retail market.
Compulsions on institutional investors to make up for the shortfall in sales of G-Secs should be gradually eased.
RBI and GOI should take the responsibility to offer some investment avenues for pension, insurance and PF accumulations which will give positive returns to the ultimate subscribers.

I decided to read my dictionary in bed last night, but I didn't finish it.
I got up to P.
2) After P, Pai
It's nice to have a Culture* . . .
My Indian friend went to Canada to enjoy maple leaves and ate Pizza at a scenic spot for lunch . . .
He ordered a 9-inch Pizza.
After a while, the Waiter brought two 5-inch diameter pizzas
And said the 9-inch pizza was not available and He was giving Him two 5-inches Pizzas instead,
and that He was getting 1 inch more for free . . .
The Indian guy politely requested the Waiter to speak to the Shop Owner.
The Indian Guy gave Him the mathematical formula to calculate the area of a circle -
Circle Area = π r²
where π = 3.1415926,
r is the radius of the circle . . .
And this works out that
a 9-inch circle area = 63.62 square inches,
while
a 5-inch circle area is 19.63 square inches
The two 5-inch circle areas add up to 39.26 square inches.
He commented that even if you gave me three pizzas and I'll still lose-out.
How can you say you are giving me an extra inch for free . . .
The Shop Owner was speechless . . .
He finally gave the Indian Guy 4 pizzas
You can never outsmart a Indian......
This is the most literate Joke that I have seen . . .

Quotes on Dilemma
https://www.brainyquote.com/topics/dilemma-quotes
People of the future may suffer not from an absence of choice but from a paralysing surfeit of it. They may turn out to be victims of that peculiarly super-industrial dilemma: overchoice.
