Welcome To Warrier's COLLAGE On Sunday May 22, 2022 Maya : Sarvapriyananda https://youtu.be/MxUXl2YXXL4 (What's Maya? https://www.speakingtree.in/allslides/maya-the-greatest-secret-of-hinduism/124894) Good Morning 🙏 Happy Birthday to all readers having Birthday during the week ending Saturday May 28, 2022. Best Wishes and Ayurarogyasaukhyam to all. Nice Day M G Warrier A Messages/Responses 1) Vathsala Jayaraman Chennai The biographical notes of Shri Babusenan are quite interesting. He should receive Life time achievement Award for having written around a dozen books while many others would not have even read a few books. He has inter alia dealt with problems of perception in pension related issues. An open minded article of great value! 2) Jyothilakshmi Anil Your suggestion on expanding the Rubber meet to a more wider and crucial participation, is of great value. (Business Line didn't publish my response. Shared my views with Dhanam Magazine Kochi-M G Warrier) 3) Leela Ex-RBI Thiruvananthapuram After reading your blog on sharing/gift/mutual help etc. I was reminded of 'Nelkuri' prevalent in our area in Thrissur District. To meet bulk requirement of money for wedding etc. people used to pool paddy during the season and sell to realise money. I mean the period upto Sixtees when banks and NBFCs were more interested in financing commercial and business ventures. 3 to 4 families will he involved and the cycle will be over in 2 years ( Two harvests in a year) May be that time mutual help reduced dependence on so called 'Blade companies' and money lenders. For most of the village people depending on income from Agriculture, this was a way of helping each other. B Media Response May 21, 2022 RBI surplus transfer This refers to the report "RBI surplus transfer to govt sharply down at Rs30,307 cr" (May 21). Traditionally, lower surpluses in RBI Balance Sheet is considered as a sign of better fiscal policy management by the government. The assumption may not hold true now, as RBI is generating substantial income from sources outside it's core function as banker to government. The components of sources and uses of funds have undergone changes with the developments in the financial market. Still, as brought out in the report, liberal use of available tools for financial market intervention, which would not have been possible, if finance ministry was doing back seat driving has paid dividend in different ways. The Contingency Risk Buffer which had reached 11 percent level eroded during the last decade to reach the present 5.50 percent level. The depletion started with Dr Raghuram Rajan's governorship when Contingency Reserves were totally neglected. To say it positively, RBI supported government during recent years allowing its reserves to come down continuously. One recalls the contribution of Dr Jalan and Dr Rakesh Mohan in plugging the erosion at 5.5 percent risking the ire of the finance ministry officials. The petition was prompted not by archaeological interests but, as more usual these days, by Hindutva interests. They wanted to see if the shuttered chambers were home to Hindu idols and scriptures. There have been enthusiasts who believed that the immortal memorial was originally Tejo Mahal, a Shiva temple, until the Mughals came and violated everything. He recalls and praises his colleagues and subordinates. The praise of the bosses continues, but is now more balanced. This review by "a Guest" in the Financial Express looks realistic and interesting. 2) Opinions & Perceptions : M G Warrier https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/readersblog/warriersviews/opinions-and-perceptions-43036/ Excerpts : There’s some ambiguity in the caption, isn’t it? First I thought of writing a brief review of the book on my table. The book is January 2022 issue of the monthly magazine “Prabuddha Bharata” published by Advaita Ashrama, Kolkata. The name of the magazine translated into English reads “Awakened India” and the byline tells it’s “A monthly journal of the Ramakrishna Order started by Swami Vivekananda in 1896” If a magazine of this genre survives few generations and crosses over to the third Century, one should take a note. And from my side, this is that note. F Leisure 1) Age old quotes* "Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what happened!" - Jennifer Yane "The older I get, the more clearly I remember things that never happened" Mark Twain "First you forget names, then you forget faces, then you forget to pull your zipper up, then you forget to pull your zipper down." - Leo Rosenberg “Aging seems to be the only available way to live a long life.” - Kitty O'Neill Col "There is absolutely nothing to be said in favor of growing old. There ought to be legislation against it." - Patrick Moore "At fifty, everyone has the face he deserves." - George Orwell "The important thing to remember is that I'm probably going to forget." - Unknown "As you get older three things happen. The first is your memory goes, and I can't remember the other two." - Sir Norman Wisdom “By the time you're 80 years old you've learned everything. You only have to remember it.” - George Burns “Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternative.” – Maurice Chevalier "When your friends begin to flatter you on how young you look, it’s a sure sign you’re getting old." - Mark Twain “Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.” – Will Rogers "Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician." *Received from Chandrasekaran B via Group mail 2) Spiritual Wellbeing https://www.speakingtree.in/blog/spiritual-wellbeing Here we simplify things further and try to know how five simple mathematical steps can be used with ease to understand the way to reach a state of spiritual wellbeing. The steps are add, subtract, multiply, integrate and divide.
