Do mothers really need to go to the office? - The Hindu

My VIEW:

The concluding para, I quote "Today for the first time I asked myself the question – why is it important for me to work? Perhaps my answer lies in a follow-up question that promptly comes to my mind – why is it important for my husband to work?" answers the question partially. As one, who has been pondering over this question for about half a century, first about my own sister, then about wife and now about daughter, my intuitive feeling is,  from a social security angle(not just about finances), it is necessary for everyone to 'work', beyond family responsibilities.  Though 'house-maker' is now accepted as a profession, the level of satisfaction varies from situation to situation.
