Rajan bats for greater tolerance | Business Standard News

My VIEW:

Among about seven
mainstream newspapers I have accessed, Business Standard stands out as one
which has given a balanced report of this convocation address by Dr Rajan. The
message the RBI Governor attempted to convey to the IIT graduates is very
relevant and has been couched in a graceful language without hurting the
sentiments of any section of his audience. Those who gave a negative
interpretation or expressed the view that the subject was ‘outside’ Dr Rajan’s
present responsibilities, may do well to go back to the PREAMBLE of Indian
Constitution and try to understand the implication of ‘giving the Constitution’
to ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ who are also responsible to protect it.
