Interesting speculation, indeed...

Interesting, harmless speculation, indeed. If Dr Rajan is not persuaded to change his mind, the change of guard @Mint Road will continue to get world-wide media attention. The initial 'long list' included many interesting celebreties, some of them from outside the usual catchment area of economists, bureaucrats, bankers and central bankers. GOI has always been applying mind while selecting RBI Governor and we can trust the present political leadership to be extra-cautious in finding Rajan's successor. It is comforting to find that the short-list now in circulation has no 'fancy names'!
Incidentally, I have posted this comment today after reading about the entry of Shaktikanta Das into the fray!
