Arnab's achievement

Apropos the Lunch with BS piece, “Arnab’s world” (April 1), although I am not sure if Republic TV is introduced in the article the way Arnab Goswamy would have done it, Vanita Kohli-Khandekar can feel happy having made him speak his mind on what his viewers might expect when the channel is launched.

The Rajeev Chandrasekhar-Mohandas Pai-Arnab Goswamy venture will definitely change the way electronic media functions in India in this decade.

Although print and electronic mediaare using advancement in technology, when it comes to opinion-making and forcing online corrections in processes of governance, the Indian media has not exploited the vast possibilities present perhaps only in India today. In a way, the audience was feeling Goswami’s absence in the days after demonetisation and during and after the Assembly polls in five states.

It would be difficult to find others with the same level of accomplishments as former president A P J Abdul Kalam, former election commissioner T N Seshan, Metro Man E Sreedharan, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan and Goswami in journalism. If we do not recognise their value and exploit their abilities, the loss is more for the country than for the individuals. Viewed from this angle, we should appreciate the support being extended to Goswami by Pai and Chandrasekhar.

Sure . Noise , may be , but his boldness in expressing his views is commendable. I hope he comes out with the "National" Channel soon.
