The Harvard student in his open letter shared @ various websites writes,
“To develop a country as diverse as India you will need the help of people who bring a different perspective to the table. Mocking economists and credible academic institutions will only isolate us from the world. People like me hope to return to India after graduation and want to join you in your quest to develop the country but such remarks will only push us away.”
My VIEW:
PM Modi's observations were in the context of harsh criticism by Amartya Sen against measures taken by India to fight the fake currency menace, corruption, black money and terrorism which got credibility in public mind because of the Harvard connection and Nobel prize tags. Modi had earlier used the "preference of hard work over Harvard" phrase during 2014 Election campaign against P Chidambaram. His audience understands the context.
