This is a seven month old article. Being posted again as some detailed informative comments have been posted yesterday by Nirmal and Satheesh.

My response:

"Those who are the 'victims' of NPS, do read the comments posted by Nirmal and Satheesh. Moneylife first published my article on NPS some years back and has supported me in creating some awareness among readers about the negatives (there are only negatives!) of NPS. My arguments all along get strengthened by Chapter 10.3 of the Seventh Central Pay Commission Report. GOI did not include NPS in the TOR for VII CPC, but the flood of representations and media report made CPC to have a look at NPS."

                       The King of Ragas                      --------------------------     Long ago  serpents were put to lot of hardships.They  were afraid of other animals. They had to seek refuge in the hermitage of sage Saraba.The sage was a true devotee of Lord Shiva.He used to pray Shiva with melodious songs.
