Promoting Mediocrity – An Indian Trait - Moneylife

My VIEW:

One need not agree entirely with the content of this article. But, the thoughts are provocative enough for anyone concerned about ‘progress’ or the well-being of majority start thinking differently. I have also conceded long back that the generation to which I belong (those born during 1940’s) remained lazy, believing that ‘leaders’ will do justice to the freedom brought by the previous generation. The responsibility entrusted to ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ was not taken seriously. Change is on the way. The generation to which Kejriwal, Modi and Raghuram Rajan has woken up and those born during 1980’s and 1990’s are becoming aware of their rights and responsibilities.I agree:
"Our generation has failed, and failed miserably. The younger generation, with its irreverent attitude, is our hope. How soon we empower them will determine, when and if, we get out of our current state of morass. We cannot wait for a generation for that to happen. We do not have the luxury of waiting that long."
