I agree with you, dear Editor. It is easy to change colours.
That is what we see around us, today.

ON Yoga et al
It is advisable to begin practice of yoga under a Guru.
The Guru should be able to guide one properly, what aasanaas to
perform and which not. And for how long each aasana.
I myself began practising "yoga" regularly when I turned 72.
I could within one month control and even eliminate hypertension syndrom
totally and discontinue taking allopathic pill for hypertenion.
My only regret is that I did not begin earlier.
The Yoga session comprises three aspects: physical exercises,
yoga aasanaas, and praanaayaamaas.
I have no regrets in having started and continuing this routine.

International Yoga Day
We in India are happy Yoga is now recognised worldwide,
It is a wonderful in every which way,
And good to practice the same each and every day,
Day after day after day.
Yoga tones up one's entire being,
Seeing results in believing,
When we become adept,
We shall in all respects cease to be inept.
Yoga has been around in India from very ancient times,
It is like music to the soul,
Yoga makes one whole,
Once one becomes a master,
You get transformed into a master blaster.
Yoga now holds the entire world spellbound,
And makes us all go round and round,
Also one and all we can astound,
Health which is lost, can be regained and restored without much cost.

Yoga has gained special status and there is no harm in joining the joint session organised at Dreams Complex.
Don't you think one should be more careful and check and ensure that nothing is missing,
before rolling back the Yoga Mat.
Any day gold chains* are more precious than celebration.
S Nallasivan
(*Reference is to the gold chain Sudha forgot to pick up from Yoga Mat after
practising Yoga in the Dreams Complex lawn on the Yoga Day in 2019.
That day I was with her though not participating. I believe someone
more needy would have got the small chain. Involuntary donation,
we call it Health and happiness are more precious ๐-Warrier)

Englishmen were and are very courteous as they are very educated. Even when they were ruling India they followed rule of law. Oxford is more than 1000 years old and Cambridge nearing 1000.That shows their
cultural heritage. Leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi
were always given first class in jails with facilities for reading and writing.
No colonial country did that.
Where else can we see such library or bookstall of selected works?

We were in Malaysia enjoying vacation with our daughter and son in law.
This belated response is a very beautiful message of real friendship.

Banking and ALM*
This refers to the article "Should coop banks be exposed to home loans?"
(The Hindu Business Line, June 21). With new institutional systems and
multiple savings and investment products in the financial sector, one
wonders whether the supervisory and regulatory authorities in the
banking system are under stress leaving depositors and those dependent
on credit for the survival of their industries and business under distress.
As proved by the rise and fall of PMC Bank during the last decade,
Multi-State cooperatives with diverse ownership and multiple controls
evade essential banking norms including those relating to Asset-Liability Management
under various pretexts. Urban Bank Model is prone to corruption emanating
from industry, politics and even from within the individual institutions.
May be, partnering with Small Finance Banks may be a short-term relief. But in the long term Government and RBI may have to make drastic changes in the ownership pattern, business model and areas of operation of cooperatives including banks.

V Babusenan's Column : Kalluvathulkal
Being at the mouth of the river Plym, the well-known port city Ply mouth in England got its name. (See here the peculiarity of the English language. Not only that in that process they gained one letter but changed the pronunciation of 'mouth' as if it had nothing to do with the eating organ) . Similar is the case with Bournemouth. Stratford-upon-Avon is somewhat different as Avon, one of the major rivers in England, did not find any suitable place to fall in Stratford and flowed forward towards the Bristol Channel.
If these rivers were to change their courses, the above towns would be in trouble except perhaps Stratford as, to be sure ,the Bard will come to its rescue.
That is all right. But what about my Kalluvaathilkal? From every door you could see the rock. So big it was. That is how the place derived its name. Situated on the
NH 47 between Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam( closer to the latter) the rock was such a sight to see that the local Wordsworth wrote about it, somewhat like this:
Earth has not anything
to show more fair
Dull would he be of soul who
could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty
Where has it gone? Not far away. It lies, as track ballast, on the first railway line between Kollam and Ernakulam towns. Kalluvathilkal remains as a hollow name now without not even a stone to throw at the errant KSRTC bus!
Not very long ago the suburbs of Thiruvananthapuram were jungles as is evident from place names ending with 'caud' meaning jungle : Thycaud, Vazhuthacaud, Nedumcaud, Nedumancaud, etc. At one of these jungles, one sage, most probably Agasthya, saw nari(leopard) and maan(deer) living in perfect harmony, licking each other, lying in the shade of a big banyan tree. Wonderstruck, he named the place 'Narimanmoodu.'(the tree root where the leopard and deer took rest together)
Slowly people from the capital city came to know about the extraordinary wild calm prevailing in that place. They started migrating. The leopard and the deer receded into the deeper forests. Men took their place and soon started behaving among themselves in the natural way as leopard and deer. All place historians may not agree, but 'Narimanmoodu' was deliberately twisted to read 'Naruvaamoodu' which means nothing particular.

Like:
We all worry. It is natural. But when it holds you back in life, it becomes more worrisome!
The timeless wisdom that Krishna is teaching here is-you should not feel stressed about anything.
Whatever has happened, happening, or will happen is happening for a reason!
Face it and accept it! Remember the previous thought? Just focus on your work; don't think about outcomes!
